Brandon Road
Northern Illinois Hydropower, LLC is filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) a License Application for the proposed Brandon Road Hydroelectric Project (FERC Project No. 12717). The proposed project is on the Des Plaines river in Will County, Illinois, immediately south of Joliet, Illinois, and approximately 500 ft from the municipal boundary of the village of Rockdale, Illinois. The proposed Project is located at the existing United States Army Corps of Engineers Brandon Road Lock and Dam. The proposed Project will include a turbine generating system, with an approximate maximum head of 30.8 ft.; the powerhouse would have a combined installed capacity of 10.8 MW, producing an estimated average annual 57,500 MWh of energy.
The Applicant proposes to construct and operate the Project pursuant to the information provided in the Pre-Application Document noticed by FERC on August 21, 2008 and as contained within this application.
